Privacy and data handling

compactly is a Claude Code plugin. Its automatic boundary judge uses Claude Code's configured model API; it is not a local-only analysis path.

What the judge receives

When mode=auto uses a judge, compactly sends a short digest to Claude Code's selected model. The digest can include the session's opening text, recent prompts, names of edited files, the beginning of the latest answer, and the next prompt. Claude Code's selected model/provider processes that request under the applicable account and provider terms. Do not enable judging for sessions whose content you are not allowed to send to that model.

Prompts containing attachments or @ mentions are not held and resubmitted by compactly's prompt-time path. This behavior does not make the rest of the session local-only.

What compactly stores

Ratings and savings are stored through Claude Code's local plugin store under the Claude Code user data directory. Rating digests are reused as judge examples only in the project where the rating was made. Ratings can affect the confidence threshold across projects, but one project's digest examples are not added to another project's judge prompt.

The panel's dollar and token amounts are estimates. They are not a record of provider billing.
