Install compactly

compactly installs as a Claude Code plugin. You need Claude Code 2.1.295 or later.

Check the installed version in a terminal:

claude --version

Update a CLI installation with:

claude update

Install from the marketplace

Inside Claude Code, run:

/plugin marketplace add swapnildahiphale/compactly
/plugin install compactly@compactly

Or install from a shell:

claude plugin install compactly --marketplace swapnildahiphale/compactly

Start a new Claude Code session after installation so the plugin loads.

Install from a local clone

git clone https://github.com/swapnildahiphale/compactly.git
claude plugin install compactly --marketplace ./compactly

To try the plugin for one shell without installing it into Claude Code settings:

export CLAUDE_CODE_PLUGIN_DIRS="$PWD/compactly/plugin/compactly"
claude

Choose an installation scope

The default installation is for your user. Add --scope project to share the plugin configuration with a repository's collaborators, or --scope local to keep it local to that repository.

Update or remove

Update the marketplace plugin:

claude plugin update compactly@compactly

Remove it:

claude plugin uninstall compactly@compactly

After installation, open a fresh session and check configuration or troubleshooting if the panel or boundary behavior is unavailable.
